The Simple Woman’s Daybook ~ November 14

Here is my Daybook entry for today ~

Outside my window. . .Sunshine and warm today, with rain predicted for tonight and tomorrow. Jeff and Tommy mowed the yard for the last time this season and everything looks trim and pretty. Beautiful yellow leaves still continue to fall from the trees and blanket the ground.

I am thinking. . .about clothing for our upcoming trip to my nephew’s wedding.

From the learning room. . .normal studies for the older three. The younger three will be doing fun Thanksgiving activity books that I put together and listening to the first Thanksgiving story.

I am thankful for. . .cozy evenings at home with my family.

From the kitchen. . .Taco Soup for dinner with cornbread.

I am wearing. . .pink shirt and denim capris.
~~~~~~~~~~
I am creating. . .working on Farm Fresh applique quilt and cross-stitching Anna’s Christmas stocking.

I am going. . .shopping for Jeff’s birthday – what to give to the man who doesn’t want anything???

I am reading. . .“Back Home Again” by Melody Carlson – this is the first book in the Grace Chapel Inn series and I am really enjoying it – so glad that there are lots more books in the series!

I am hoping. . .for a peaceful, relaxed Christmas season this year.
~~~~~~~~~~
I am hearing. . .Laura singing silly songs, warm breeze blowing outside the window, girls chatting with me.
~~~~~~~~~~
Around the house. . .cats in windows, empty pumpkins on the kitchen island left from last night’s seed roasting, dishes and laundry to do.

One of my favorite things. . .payday…enough said.

A few plans for the rest of the week. . .shopping, library, skating, ballet, basketball sign-ups, and celebrating Jeff’s birthday!

Autumn Beauty

A rainy morning brought in some cooler weather this afternoon. I went out for the mail and was captivated by the beauty of the colors of the trees and the yellow leaves laying all over the ground. I pulled out the camera and took a few pictures.

It seems like the last few days the trees have really started to turn. Most of the trees around our property turn yellow in the autumn, except for the Crepe Myrtles by the house that turn a beautiful fiery red around the end of November each year. The pond area is especially beautiful with all of the trees turning and falling down into the pond. The pond is very low right now due to our drought this summer, but the banks of the pond are covered in yellow leaves – a lovely sight!

I love when the leaves start to fall all over the driveway each year. By a few weeks from now there will be a thick blanket of leaves here ~

It was a very nice walk out to the mailbox. The changing seasons are such a wonderful blessing from the Lord! Are the leaves changing where you are?

Finding time to blog . . .

I want to be here. I want to write, but life seems to be taking all of my minutes these days. I have thought about quitting blogging until life settles down, but that might be years, and I really do want to capture our memories here for the future. Not to mention that I miss the creative outlet of writing. Therefore, I am thinking about my days, trying to reorganize my activities and time to plan a regular time for writing and posting here. I am looking forward to sharing with you all again soon!
